service DETAILS AT FAIRMONT EMPRESS
Fairmont Empress is entering an exciting new chapter, with planned enhancements to guest rooms in the Humboldt Wing. This renovation will further elevate the guest experience and will take place from October 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027, and will be limited to this wing of the hotel. The hotel will remain fully open throughout the project, with our restaurants, guest services, amenities, and other guest rooms operating as usual. Please note, we remain fully committed to delivering the exceptional service and experience Fairmont Empress is known for and look forward to welcoming you.
Check-in and check-out will continue as usual through the hotel’s main entrance and Reception.
Check-in time is 4:00pm and Check-out time is 11:00am.

Hotel elevators and guest access will remain operational throughout the renovation period. From time to time, access routes may be adjusted as work progresses.

Temporary Spa Closure
The Fairmont Spa will be temporarily closed October 7–21, 2026, while renovations take place in the Humboldt Wing. The Spa will reopen on October 22, 2026 and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Guests can self-park for $39 per night. This rate includes in-and-out privileges until 4:00pm on your check out date.
Valet parking is available for $53 per night.
Electric car charging is also available.
Fairmont Empress is pleased to provide some options for over-height, recreational vehicles or trailers.
Fairmont Empress has four accessible rooms with door frames that have ample room for wheelchair access. These bathrooms have grab bars and adjustable shower heads. Wheelchairs are available for guests’ use inside the hotel.
Fairmont Empress is also pleased to have rooms for well suited for the hearing impaired. These rooms feature portable closed converters for the television and alert strobe lights over the doorways.

Our fitness centre is equipped with all the latest in stationary bikes, ellipticals, stair climbers, treadmills, free weights and weight machines. We have Reebok apparel and footwear, and yoga mats available for guests. Pets stay free!
We understand your cat or dog is an important part of your family, and so we are delighted to provide some comforts of home. Guests intending to bring their pet to stay with them should familiarize themselves with our Pet Waiver Form, which must be signed upon checking-in.
Fairmont Empress pet amenities are available on request, and include bed basket, food and water dishes, dry food, bottled water, treats, pet waste disposal bags, and litter boxes. These amenities are subject to availability, and are available through the Housekeeping Department.
For your pet’s safety, we require pets not be left unattended in your guest room. Please contact our Concierge in advance to make arrangements if you require a pet sitter while staying with us. While travelling through the lobby or public areas, pets must be carried or on a leash.
Bellmen are located in the reception lobby of the hotel. They will be happy to assist with porterage, luggage storage and may provide assistance in transporting luggage to many arrival and departure points within the downtown core.
The Housekeeping Team at Fairmont Empress are pleased to provide cribs, rollaway, bed boards and other specialty items based on availability. They also handle all requests for lost and found items. Twice daily housekeeping or turndown services are also available upon request.
Same-day dry cleaning and laundry services are available daily except Sunday. Laundry bags and price lists are located in your guest room closet. In order to guarantee same-day delivery, items must be ready by 8:00am for return by 2:00pm.
